Help Needed at Fall Fellowship

The Vigil Committee is looking for Vigil Honor arrowmen who would like to volunteer to help with the Vigil Induction. If you are interested in helping, please e-mail Chris Szybisty as soon as possible. There are many different jobs and there is certainly one that fits your talents! Also, please remember to register for the Fall Fellowship and Vigil Breakfast!

Vigil Selection Meeting June 10th

On Behalf of the Vigil Honor Committee, I would just like to say Thank you to all the members that turned in a nomination to be considered for this year's Vigil class. All of your time and efforts are greatly appreciated!
Please remember that the Vigil Selection Committee will meet on June 10, 2007 at The First Methodist Church in Dearborn. Start time for this meeting is 2P.M. All members who are not eligible for Vigil are welcome to attend the discussion portion of the meeting. Please wear Class A uniform if you do choose to attend. Results will be announced with a public Call Out ceremony at the D-A Fall Conclave in September.

Vigil Nomination Deadline - April 29th, 2007

This is just a reminder that the deadline to turn in a Vigil Nomination for this year is less then two weeks away, April 29, 2007. All nominations must be submitted to Chris Szybisty, Lodge Vigil Chairman, or Mike Bien, Lodge Vigil Adviser by April 29th. These forms can be turned in at the next LEC meeting or at the upcoming Spring Conclave at D-A. If your not going to be at one of these events, you can mail or email the nomination to Chris or myself (mbien19@wowway.com). However, emailed or mailed forms need to be received by the 29th. Nominations turned in after the 29th will NOT be accepted. You can find a Vigil Nomination Form on the lodge website (www.migisi.org) under "forms". When filling out the form, make sure you have all the necessary information and signatures. Don't wait until the last minute...get those nominations in!!!! Please share this information with your fellow arrowmen!

The Migisi Opawgan Vigil Honor Committee is still accepting nominations for Vigil Honor. Any arrowmen may submit a nomination for consideration. Nomination forms can be found at www.migisi.org/forms/vigil.pdf. Completed nomination forms must be turned into either Chris Szybisty (litoo35@aol.com) or Mike Bien (mbien19@wowway.com). The last available date for submission is April 29 at the Spring Conclave; however, nominations may be submitted anytime before the deadline. You may submit completed nominations at lodge meetings, through e-mail, or by mail. If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact either Chris Szybisty (litoo35@aol.com) or Mike Bien (mbien19@wowway.com).

Congratulations 2006 Vigil Class

Congratulations to the 12 outstanding arrowmen who were selected to receive the Vigil Honor. They were called out at the recent Fall Conclave in front of 219 of their brothers. They are Aaron Ankiel, Joe Kulwicki, Dan Swan, Jason Licht, Andrej Walilko, Geoff Polan, Mike Ankiel, Ken McCormick, Adam Jewell, David Oakley, Bill Federonko, and Earl Moorhouse. They will be inducted at the Fall Fellowship, held at D-A. Vigil Honor members are asked to attend the Vigil Breakfast. Registration forms are available at www.migisi.org.

As Vigil chairman, I would like to thank each arrowman who took the time to fill out a nomination form for a deserving candidate. There were certainly many to choose from! You made the task of narrowing down a list of Vigil candidates for 2006 very difficult on members of the selection committee. I would like to thank each person who came to the selection meeting and sharing their thoughts and opinions on the nominees. I would especially like to thank voting members Mark Rosiek Jr., Chris Corbin, David Genevich, Corey Curtiss, Jon Hunacek, Matt Elias, and Jamie White for their alertness to comments during the meeting. Also, thank you Mr. Bien and Mr. Retzbach for helping guide me through the difficult meeting. Your advice and guidance was very appreciated. The Migisi Opawgan Vigil Honor Class of 2006 will be announced at the Fall Conclave held at D-A this September. Be sure to get your registration in for this event early!

Attention Brothers: The Vigil Honor Selection Meeting is this Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Dearborn, MI. Any Ordeal and Vigil Honor member may come to discuss the candidates, as well as any Brotherhood member who sealed their membership after 6/11/04. 2 Weeks until Vigil Nomination Deadline!!

This is to remind all members that only two weeks remain until all Vigil nominations need to be turned in. The due date is April 23rd at the D-A Spring Conclave. If you wish to turn in a nomination, forms can be found on our lodge website under "FORMS". Please make sure you follow all directions and get all necessary signatures before turning it in. All nominations must be submitted to Lodge Vigil Chairman, Chris Sybisty, or Lodge Vigil Advisor, Mike Bien by the 23rd due date. Remember it's up to you to nominate those deserving Arrowman. After much discussion, the vigil committee has revised the Vigil Honor Nomination form. You can find it at www.migisi.org/forms. Remember, any arrowman may recommend a fellow brother for the Vigil Honor provided that brother is a dues-paying member and has been a brotherhood member for at least two years. If you have a completed nomination form, please turn it in to either Chris Szybisty, 2006 Vigil Committee Chairman, or Mr. Michael Bien, Vigil Committee Adviser. We would be happy to answer any of your questions about the selection process or the Vigil Honor in general. Vigil Nomination Meeting

The Vigil meeting will be held on Sunday, June 12 at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Dearborn. Nomations are closed. The meeting will be to discuss the qualifications of those nominated and select those who will receive the Vigil Honor in 2005. The meeting will be in two parts - the first part of the discussion is open to all members of the Lodge. The second part is open only to the members of the Vigil committee and will be when the actual voting is held.

New Vigil Honor Members

Brothers, 8 great members of our lodge became the 2003 Vigil Honor class of Migisi Opawgan. If you see Bill Marriot, Mike Ruszala, Bobby Gillette, Zach Polifroni, Geoff Booth, Paul Kupser, Jamie White, or John Morgan with their new sashes, give them a big high five. Ricky Mazyck, who is attending college in Oaklahoma, recieved the Vigil Honor in the summer. Congratualtions!
