LLD Courses

Using Resources

This course will help leaders learn where and how to obtain support materials to assist in accomplishing a task. Participants will also be able to explain that people are a resource because they have knowledge and skills and be able to recognize outside resources such as the Section/Region/National Officers, family, friends, adult Arrowmen, and others.

Setting the Example

This course will explain how setting the example is an important skill as a leader and will examine ways the lodge can correct "bad examples" commonly made by lodge leaders.

Dynamics of Leadership

The purpose of this course will be able to help the participant understand his or her own leadership styles and interpersonal skills and how to use them effectively.

Mentoring

Participants will establish a common understanding of the mentoring process and will identify attributes of a successful mentoring relationship. Also an opportunity to mentor a lodge member in the near future will be planned.

Chapter Management

Participants will learn and understand the fundamentals of Chapter Management along with understanding the foundations upon which decisions about Chapter Management are made. By the end of the session participants will be able to apply the fundamentals learned here to the participants' Chapters.

Leave No Trace

This session is designed to teach the skills of Leave No Trace and will help participants understand the ideas behind this concept. Participants of this course will be expected to take the principles taught in this course back to their chapters and troops.

Ceremonies Performance

This course will help a new ceremonialist explore and discover the meaning behind the four principals of the Order's ceremonies and methods for learning the ceremonies effectively. Techniques for playing the roles with success will also be discussed. This session is intended for those members who are interested in serving on a ceremony team for the first time, or for those who would like to be more effective in their performance.
