Migisi Improvements

Migisi Campsite at D-A, which was adopted by our lodge in 2007, just keeps getting better. This summer the scouts of Trroop 732 of Livonia spent a week there and decided to put in some erosion steps to help keep the campsite looking it's best.
The Ranch staff, also looking to improve the site, erected a giant Migisi sign over the driveway. Unlike most camp signs, this one is red and white and really stands out.
It just goes to show that whatever efforts you put in to make something better can inspire others to help improve it even further.

NOAC 2009 in

NOAC 2K9 in 329 days!

The lodge is please to announce registrations for the 2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) are being taken for members of Migisi Opawgan Lodge. The preliminary cost estimate is $450 for the August 1-6, 2009 event at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. A non-refundable (but transferable) deposit of $75 is required by October 31st. The lodge leadership hopes our NOAC fund raisers will help reduce the estimated cost for participants, but we must run with the $450 fee for planning purposes. Past national OA requirements dictate a 2:1 youth to adult ratio; so adult participation will be limited to this ratio against our youth registrations. Questions: Please speak to NOAC Chairman, Andrew Curtiss, or his NOAC Adviser, Mr. Mike Bien.

You Asked For It - First Saturday in September Is The Date

Okay, the first Saturday was chosen to be the best date when the least amount of conflict would occur for everyone to come out to the Michigan State Fair Grounds to do some time in community service. Our service project, which includes YOU, starts at 9:00 am and concludes at 3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided for those attending. Be sure to wear work clothes and bring gloves. Rakes and shovels should be brought if possible, BUT PUT YOUR NAME ON THEM; gloves too!! Enter the fair grounds off Woodward Avenue, just south of Eight Mile Road. Come on!
REMEMBER, THIS IS THE DATE YOU REQUESTED BECAUSE IT IS THE ONE WITH THE FEWEST CONFLICTS. SEE YOU THERE!!

Fall Ordeal - Have you submitted your registration yet?

The weekend of September 19-21 is quickly approaching. We need your registration form for this event processed early for planning purposes. Remember, it is a tent event at Trout Lake field.

We also need everyone to encourage elected candidates to participate so we meet our yearly positive membership growth objective for Quality Lodge. We need about 100 new members at this event, our final Ordeal for 2008, to hit that goal. Let's get rocking on this; it's a team effort.
